[STEWARDSHIP]
We have a tendency to always think of money when the word “stewardship” is used. However, we can also be good stewards by sharing in other ways.
If you look at our weekly contributions and notice that it is the rare week that those contributions pay the bills for the week (salaries and benefits included) you might notice a way that you could reduce our bills by donating your time, your talent, your skill. There are often small projects that require a skill set that some parishioners might have and might be willing to share for the good of the parish community; for example an electrician, a carpenter etc.
If you would be willing to lighten the financial burden of the parish by donating some of your skill and time just let us know by calling the parish office and leaving your name. Thank you for your consideration of this request.

If there are any high school seniors who are parishioners and who are seriously considering applying for admission to St. Michael’s College in Vermont, please call Father McCarthy for some important information.

[A SPECIAL THANK YOU]

We are very fortunate to have faithful advertisers for our bulletin. They commit to sponsoring an ad upfront for a full year. That’s why our bulletin never has empty advertising spaces. We can express our gratitude to those who favor us with their ads by connecting with them when we have a need for the goods or services they provide. Letting them know that you have contacted them because you saw their ad in our parish bulletin lets them know that using our bulletin is worth the investment they make. This year we have 25 returning advertisers and 1 new one. We are grateful to all of them. Finally we would mention that the advertising page of our bulletin is also available here our website at this link:

TAX INFORMATION

Due to recent changes in the federal tax laws for charitable contributions, beginning in 2007, parishioners who itemize deductions on Schedule A of their tax returns will no longer be able to deduct contributions to the parish unless they maintain a bank record or receive a written contribution statement from the parish. Cash contributions that are not in a parish envelope cannot be tracked by the parish and will not be included in the year-end contribution statement. To ensure tax deductibility for contributions to our parish, the following payment methods are recommended:

1. Use of parish envelopes provided to you by the parish; or
2. Written check made payable to the parish.

Our parish will track contributions made using the parish envelope system, and will, upon request, produce a written statement of contributions made. This information will include the name of the parish, name of parishioner, date of each individual contribution, and the dollar amount. Our parish cannot track cash contributions, regardless of the amount, that are NOT part of our parish envelope system. Please note, that this does not change the requirement that a taxpayer receive an acknowledgement from our parish for each deductible contribution of $250 or more. If you have any additional questions, please consult with your tax advisor.
