Sacraments
Eucharist: Please contact Anne Vail at the Religious Education Office for information regarding First Holy Communion. That number is (781) 843-2142. Also, if you or someone in your family is unable to come to Mass due to illness or infirmity, please contact the rectory and we will be happy to schedule communion calls.
Sacraments are a foundational part of Catholic life. Through Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist we are fully initiated into the Catholic community. We are healed through Reconciliation and the Anointing of the Sick, and the sacraments of Marriage and Ordination to Priesthood mark our vocational choices. Most importantly, each of these different sacraments bring us closer to our loving God. At STMP we realize the significance of sacraments in our lives and hope that the following information about them will be helpful.
Baptism: Baptisms are a glorious occasion for people of all ages and for the Church community as well. It is through this sacrament that a person becomes marked for Christ and is welcomed into the Catholic Church community. Parents, by having their child baptized, are committing to raising that child in our rich faith tradition and they chose godparents who will support them fully in that decision. Baptisms are celebrated on the second Sunday of the month at 1:30 p.m. Please contact the rectory for information about our Baptismal Preparation for parents and godparents. The rectory number is (781) 843-1980.
Confirmation: We have a dynamic two-year Confirmation Program that prepares 9th and 10th graders to accept a more active and adult role in the Church with the help of the Holy Spirit. For information, please contact Jerry Hubbard at the rectory.
Marriage: The sacrament of Marriage celebrates the holy union of a couple before God and the community. This joyful occasion takes much planning, so please be sure to contact the Rectory at least six months prior to the wedding.
RCIA: The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is offered for those over the age of seven who wish to become Catholic. It is a spiritually enriching process that is as life-giving to the community as it is to the participants. If you feel God calling you to become a Catholic, please contact the rectory for more information about this very special process.
Reconciliation: Penance is offered every Saturday from 3-3:45PM in the Penance Room or by appointment.
